English/Español - Maestro JUAN VICENTE TORREALBA is the most important figure of the Venezuelan harp of the XX century. His compositions, both instrumentals as well as marvelous pieces with his music and lyrics, are beloved and revered by all Venezuelans. I had the privilege of seen him many many times on television while living in Caracas from 1958 to 1963 and eventually my wife and I met him in Venezuela in 1998. He was my music idol before I even thought of learning to play the harp. Juan Vicente, and later the late Paraguayan Maestro Luis Bordón, were the most important influences in me during my early years formation as a harpist.Thank you Juan Vicente!!! - 
El maestro Juan Vicente Torrealba es la figura mas importante del arpa en Venezuela en el siglo XX. Sus hermosas composiciones instrumentales así como muchas con música y letra de su autoría, son amadas por todos los Venezolanos. Tuve el privilegio de verlo numerosas veces en televisión cuando yo viví en Caracas, de 1958 a 1963, y eventualmente mi esposa y yo lo conocimos en Caracas en 1998. El era mi ídolo musical antes de que yo ni siquiera pensara estudiar arpa. Juan Vicente, y un tiempo mas tarde el fallecido maestro paraguayo Luís Bordón, fueron las influencias mas importantes en mi formación temprana como arpista. ¡Gracias Juan Vicente!!!!﻿
